Auckland Museum Builds Captivating 16-Monitor Video Wall to Promote Exhibits and Attractions
MONTREAL (PRWEB) August 14, 2013 -- Matrox Graphics today announced that the Auckland Museum has combined two Matrox M9188 PCI Express® x16 octal-monitor graphics cards to cost effectively drive digital signage content across a four-by-four (4x4), 16-monitor video wall. The M9188 multi-display solution supports up to eight high-resolution monitors and was configured with a second M9188 board within the same system to provide the museum with an expansive canvas—at resolutions of 1920X1080 per display—to dynamically promote featured exhibitions and galleries.
The Auckland Museum, one of New Zealand's most popular tourist attractions, was looking to modernize its entrance's static information display with a multi-monitor backdrop that would instantly grab and hold the visitor's attention. The museum contracted Wallflower® Advanced Digital Signage to deploy a captivating digital signage installation and they resourcefully combined two Matrox M9188 octal-monitor graphics cards to power sixteen 40-inch monitors at a total resolution of 7680x4320. The easy-to-use solution allows system operators to intuitively manage the high-resolution imagery and video to effectively engage, inform, and entertain visitors with crisp, clear, and dynamic content. The staff has fully embraced the new digital canvas while remarking the positive effect it's had on museum visitors.
"There's no better way for visitors to begin a museum tour than to be wowed by our video wall immediately upon entry," said Margi Mellsop, Marketing Manager, Auckland Museum. "This stunning visual platform gives us the proper communication channel to uniquely bring the past to the present, while enhancing our visitors' overall museum experience for years to come."
