M-Tech Software’s QuickLog Well / Boring Log Software Now Outputs AGS Data
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) February 28, 2014 -- A big benefit of using QuickLog software with the AGS data format is the elimination of duplicate data entry. For example, in a typical geotechnical project, the geologist begins the boring log process by taking notes in his fieldbook. Often, he is in a hurry - so he writes a kind of shorthand. Next, he re-writes his notes neatly so that a data entry processor can read them. The processor then types the notes into a boring log software program such as QuickLog. If not using QuickCross/Fence, the borehole data then has to be re-entered into AutoCAD. Finally, if the geotechnical firm is using other modeling programs, the data has to be entered once again into those.
On the other hand, if the geologist uses QuickLog from the beginning, optimally on a tablet computer in the field, he enters the borehole data just one time. He can then print his own boring log diagrams using QuickLog, print his own cross sections using QuickCross/Fence, and then export the data to AGS format to be used in other modelling software systems and databases.
In summary, QuickLog and QuickCross/Fence are huge time savers for the geotechnical fields. For more information, please visit http://www.mtechsoftware.com or call 310-822-3624.
