Linda Mack explored current trends based on her 20+ years of experience and presented the findings from a recent family office market research initiative on hiring practices and culture fit characteristics. “The overarching trend is that families and family offices are taking a more professional and structured approach to the recruiting and hiring process. The data reaffirms what we are seeing in the industry,” said Mack.
“We also surveyed the top characteristics of high performing family office staff and the characteristics of low performers. We discovered consistent themes in both cases. This is critical information to incorporate into your selection criteria to help ensure a ‘good fit’ when hiring family office staff,” stated Mack.
Ms. Mack shared her tried and true ‘Best Practice Assessment Process’ at the FOX session. This process underscores the importance of thoroughly defining the family culture in order to define the selection criteria. Using assessment tools and defining a thoughtful process is just as important. Clarity, consensus, alignment and accountability are imperative factors for success.
