Malouf Doubles its Reach with Acquisition of Building from La-Z-Boy
LOGAN, Utah (PRWEB) September 18, 2014 -- Bedding accessories manufacturer, Malouf today announced the acquisition of a 675,000 square foot building from La-Z-Boy allowing faster shipping and more space for its rapid growth in bedding products. As Malouf takes the reins, its domestic reach expands to more than one million square feet of warehouse space, more than double what it had previously.
Located near its headquarters in Logan, Utah, Malouf will use the building to reinforce its Logan, Utah and Lenoir, N.C. warehouse locations and adds another layer of support to ensure optimal product distribution. Following suit with Malouf’s constant growth, the addition comes right in time to fill its growing product line.
“To better serve our customers and to be poised for growth, we needed more space,” said Mike Douglas, the general manager at Malouf. “In the last few weeks we hit some large sales and production milestones. In addition, we have nearly 1,000 new product SKUs planned for the next year so it’s not hard to guess the reason we chose to double our warehouse space.”
At the end of August, Malouf announced the beginning of the largest production cycle to date by pulling the trigger on manufacturing more products at one time than ever before. Just one week later, Malouf had its best sales week which contributed to its best month and best quarter since its inception. Put simply, Malouf is growing—a lot.
La-Z-Boy moved out of the building in 2008 as they took business to its other facilities. The building left behind is a perfect fit for Malouf with close ties to the furniture industry and its current location nearby. The new building is also closer to major transit lines which will solidify Malouf’s same-day shipping promise.
