Financial Transmission Network Inc. (FTNI), a provider of industry-leading integrated receivables solutions, today announced Manhattan Beer Distributors, an award-winning, top 10 U.S. Beer Distributor, has launched FTNI’s ETran Integrated Receivables platform to deliver new online payment options to its customers.

Founded in 1978 by Simon Bergson, Manhattan Beer Distributors started from humble beginnings, operating out of a 4,000 square foot warehouse with three delivery trucks and carrying two beer brands. Over the past 40 years, Manhattan Beer Distributors has successfully managed consistent growth and now operates a fleet of more than 400 trucks, has over 1.5 million square feet of warehousing, carries distribution rights to approximately 350 brands, and employs a workforce of 1,800+ employees serving 25,000+ customers throughout metropolitan New York City, Long Island and surrounding counties.

FTNI’s customer base within the foodservice, beverage, and janitorial & sanitation supply sectors continues to grow, having added 30+ new distribution customers in the past 24 months. Currently used by companies spanning numerous industries, ETran has been proven to decrease the amount of time it takes companies’ A/R departments to process and post payments by up to 80 percent, and reduce DSO by more than four days.

With the launch of FTNI’s fully-hosted Online Payment Portal, Manhattan Beer Distributors will deliver new online payment options to its customers. Manhattan Beer customers will benefit from the ability to view and pay their open invoices via ACH conveniently and securely within the easy-to-use, responsive design of the payment portal. Manhattan Beer Distributors is the first beverage distributor to leverage FTNI’s integration with Rutherford and Associates’ eoStar route accounting software. This new integration streamlines the transmission of invoice and payment data between FTNI’s ETran platform and eoStar, delivering true straight-through processing to automate the posting and cash application of remittance information and associated transactional data into eoStar.

“Our commitment to exceptional customer service drives nearly every business decision we make,” said Mark Johnson, CFO at Manhattan Beer Distributors. “Our customers have expressed their growing interest in the ability to pay online, and we’re excited to be able to deliver them with an industry leading online payment experience. We’ve developed a strong partnership with FTNI and look forward to maximizing our use of their ETran platform to drive additional operational efficiencies and cost savings within our A/R operations in the months and years to come.”

“Any time an organization adds new technology, it needs to be about more than just adding new functionality,” said Ziad Eljamal, executive IT director at Manhattan Beer Distributors. “With FTNI, we’re not only launching exciting new online payment solutions for our customers, we’ve also achieved tight integrations with our upstream and downstream systems to create significantly increased levels of automation within our existing platforms.”

ETran’s cloud-based, highly-configurable design allows A/R organizations to easily tailor the platform to their unique business processes and workflows to accelerate operations across all payment methods and channels, from a single receivables processing platform. ETran’s agnostic, ‘plug-n-play’ nature works with existing banking and merchant processor relationships and supports efficient integration (batch or real-time) with any back-office system. All payment information is processed and stored on ETran’s fully compliant – PCI, HIPAA, SSAE 16 and more – Software as a Service (SaaS) platform.

“Manhattan Beer Distributors is a nationally recognized leader in the beer distribution industry, with over 40 years of strong, sustained growth within a highly-competitive market,” said John Karhoff, director of sales at FTNI. “Their use of our fully-hosted Online Payment Portal not only delivers their customers with a great online payment experience, but also allows their internal A/R operations to benefit from new operational efficiencies as a result of automated cash application capabilities between FTNI and eoStar.”
