Manhattan Country Club Hosts 20th Annual Manhattan Wine Auction
Manhattan Beach, CA (PRWEB) July 15, 2014 -- Manhattan Country Club played host to a sell-out crowd of more than 1,600 guests at the Manhattan Wine Auction on Saturday, June 14. The largest wine auction in Southern California, the event raised more than $1 million for the Manhattan Beach Education Foundation, a non-profit organization that supports curriculum and enrichment programs for the seven public schools of Manhattan Beach.
To accommodate the festive fundraising gala, Manhattan Country Club transformed its tennis courts into lighted and tented spaces featuring live music, dancing, and sampling from 75 distinguished wineries, distilleries and breweries, plus 40 top South Bay restaurants. Highlights of the live and silent auctions included fine collectible wines, exotic trips, luxury box seats to the Clippers and Lakers, and a ride on the Goodyear Blimp.
Manhattan Country Club has sponsored and hosted the annual event since its inception 20 years ago. The Endowment Challenge was initiated by a $50,000 commitment from Keith Brackpool, owner of the Manhattan Country Club, and raised more than $315,000 with the support of 60 community members in the audience.
