Manuel Antonio National Park Expands Operating Hours
Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica (PRWEB) May 20, 2014 -- The Manuel Antonio National Park is the second most visited national park in Costa Rica and the number one income generating attraction for the country. Since its creation in 1972, the national park has been closed to visitors on Mondays. The announcement that the park will now open to the public on Mondays for a large part of the year is one of the first major decisions made by the park’s new administration.
Tulemar Resort is the #1 recommended hotel in the Manuel Antonio National Park area according to popular travel website, TripAdvisor. Spokesperson for the resort, Dave Houck, says, “We get visitors from all over the world who come here to explore the natural beauty and biodiversity of Manuel Antonio. With our proximity to the park, our concierges are happy to help our guests set up a guided tour of the national park to experience the Costa Rican rainforest and learn more about the jungle flora and fauna found there. Having the park open seven days a week will allow more visitors the opportunity to go in and also help by making the park less crowded during the peak tourist season."
The days of operation is not the only change the new board has initiated. Expansion and improvement of many of the park’s trails is currently underway. Also, effective August 1, 2014, the entrance fee for international visitors will be raised to $16 USD. This is the first increase in the entrance fee since 2003.
