Manuel Antonio Beach Joins List of World’s Best
(PRWEB) May 08, 2014 -- TripAdvisor's second annual “Top Beaches in the World Traveler's Choice” places Manuel Antonio, one of Costa Rica's most popular beaches in the top 25, making it the highest ranking beach in Central America and one of 7 Latin American beaches to make the list. TripAdvisor examines each of the beach's reviews submitted by users and ranks them, with quality of facilities and nearby accommodations playing a role.
Dave Houck, spokesperson for Tulemar Resort, the #1 rated hotel in the Manuel Antonio area according to TripAdvisor, says, "This sort of recognition, based on visitor’s reviews, is very exciting for us. It affirms the choices that area businesses and the community leaders have made to keep the area attractive to visitors. Travelers increasingly expect their Costa Rican vacation to offer accommodations as beautiful as the surrounding jungle and beaches, but with high-quality services that meet all their needs.
The Manuel Antonio area has always been one of Costa Rica's most visited destinations, as it manages to fuse untouched natural beauty with high-end resort properties, great eateries and a culturally diverse population that really makes it a fun place to visit."
The national park’s territory includes more than 300 acres of primary forest, as well as secondary forests, rock islands, mangroves, and grassy lagoons. The park is habitat for a large number of species including a subspecies of squirrel monkey found only in the Manuel Antonio area.
This year's top beach was Baia do Sancho in Brazil, which scaled from fourth position last year to top of the list.
