Charlotte N.C. (PRWEB) November 11, 2014 -- Christenbury Eye Center, a premier laser eye surgery center in Charlotte, NC, supports the March of Dimes at their annual fundraiser. The 2014 Hickory Signature Chefs Auction® is a gourmet extravaganza and auction featuring some of the best chefs and restaurants in the area. The event will be held on November 13, 2014, at 6pm at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Hickory, NC. Dr. and Mrs. Christenbury will join in the festivities.
According to the March of Dimes, 2,350 babies are born each week in North Carolina. Of those babies, 334 are premature and 22 die before their first birthday. The Foothills Division of the March of Dimes provides much-needed services to prevent premature birth, birth defects and infant mortality.
"The March of Dimes services are invaluable to local residents in need. Almost every baby born in the United States benefits from research performed by this amazing organization," says Dr. Jonathan Christenbury, Medical Director of Christenbury Eye Center. "We are pleased to help in some small way to help bring more healthy babies into the world."
The March of Dimes Signature Chefs Auction happens on the evening of November 13, 2014. More than 300 people are expected to attend and enjoy the culinary savory and sweet delights provided by some of the area's finest chefs and restaurants. In addition to a Wavefront LASIK eye procedure for both eyes, the live and silent auctions offer various travel, entertainment and dining packages. This event raises approximately $75,000 per year, and seventy-seven (77) percent of the proceeds are donated directly to the mission for grants and educational materials. The Christenbury Eye Center donation is expected to raise up to $5,000 for the March of Dimes at the auction.
