2014 Mardi Gras Bash in Shreveport-Bossier a Favorite for Group Tour Operators
Shreveport-Bossier, LA (PRWEB) August 29, 2013 -- It’s time to start planning Mardi Gras tours and celebrations, and group tour operators looking for a less chaotic experience this Carnival season should make Shreveport-Bossier, Louisiana the place to party. One of the best ways to take advantage of Mardi Gras in the sister cities is to attend the ultimate celebration, the 8th Annual Mardi Gras Bash beginning at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 22, hosted by the Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau.
Each $35 ticket to the Mardi Gras Bash includes a T-shirt, 2014 signature Mardi Gras bead, two meal tickets for delicious Cajun fare, non-alcoholic beverages, live entertainment to get the party started and most importantly a front row spot ideal for catching Mardi Gras beads during the parade. The Bash takes place inside a climate controlled tent.
New in 2014, the parade route begins in downtown Shreveport on Clyde Fant Parkway near the Mardi Gras Bash and ending at the Duck Pond along East Kings Highway. For those who wish to let the good times roll on into the night, the new parade route and Mardi Gras Bash location make for a perfect segue into downtown Shreveport nightlife, riverboat gambling and post parade parties in the area’s premier entertainment district.
Shreveport-Bossier is home to some 16 krewes including the Krewe of Gemini, Krewe of Centaur and the Krewe of Highland. The Krewe of Harambee will parade through downtown Shreveport on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, January 16. The two largest parades in the area will roll February 15 with the Krewe of Gemini and February 22 with Krewe of Centaur. Watch for more parade announcements on the Shreveport-Bossier Fun Guide.
Some of the main reasons why group tour operators choose Shreveport-Bossier as their Mardi Gras destination are convenience, safety, amenities and assistance provided by Tourism Sales Manager Erica Howard.
“Groups that come into Shreveport-Bossier for Mardi Gras Bash are given the red carpet treatment,” said Erica Howard, tourism sales manager at the Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau. “We can help with hotel bookings, customized itineraries, welcome gifts and other amenities to make tours easier on the tour operator and more convenient and enjoyable for groups overall.”
The deadline to reserve tickets is February 12, 2014. For more information and to learn about group discounts contact Howard at ehoward(at)sbctb(dot)org or call (800) 551-8682 ext. 104.
