Margaret Sheehan’s new caretaking guide asks ‘How Hard Could it Be?’
CEDAR PARK, Texas (PRWEB) January 15, 2015 -- Providing care for an aging parent or partner is an issue facing many children and members of the baby-boomer generation, respectively. In her new book “How Hard Could it Be?: A Caregiver’s Story” (published by LifeRich Publishing), author Margaret Sheehan expounds upon the world of care-giving while discussing the details of her journey of caring for her own parents.
With insightful advice and a humorous slant, Sheehan shares the lessons and surprises she encountered when she assumed the role of caretaker for her parents. She openly provides pragmatic tips and resources for people beginning to think about the process of caretaking, as well as information to dispel any fears a potential caretaker may have.
“It takes a light, humorous, defused, pragmatic approach to difficult, scary, inevitable issues of progressive debilitation and death,” Sheehan says of her book. “Many boomers are now dealing with the necessity of caretaking decisions regarding their parent generation or even themselves and their own wishes. This book is honest, sensitive and thoughtful in its approach to these issues.”
From her book, Sheehan hopes her readers will feel affirmed in their decisions, whether or not they decide to become caregivers. She hopes this book will help readers begin important conversations together with loved ones.
