Rosary Prayers Find Additional Inspiration in New Book ‘Being There’
Madisonville, LA (PRWEB) June 12, 2014 -- For author Marie Louise Guste Nix, the Rosary is a powerful prayer bringing healing, peace and unexpected graces, and needs to be re-discovered in a hurting world. Her new book, “Being There: Reflections from the Scenes of the Mysteries of the Rosary” (published by WestBow Press), helps readers embrace the moment of the mysteries with new imagery and guided reflections.
“Being There” enlivens meditation with a collection of narrative poems capturing the scenes through the voice of an eye witness. Each reflection tells the story of a scene from the Joyful, Luminous, Sorrowful and Glorious mysteries of the Rosary. Readers hear the stories from St. Joseph and Simeon, the apostles Peter and James and many others giving a totally fresh perspective to the events.
In addition, Nix includes religious artwork from the Renaissance and Post-Renaissance masters to accompany the poems. She also provides suggestions for reflection, discussion and journaling as well as a guide to praying the Rosary for beginners.
Through her book, Nix aims to help readers enrich, enliven and even enjoy the experience of praying the Rosary through further activating the imagination and involving the five senses. It is her hope that readers will come away refreshed and invigorated from entering an oasis where they can feel God’s love and acceptance and trust Mary’s advocacy and protection.
“My hope for the book,” writes Nix, “is to share with the world the extraordinary power of the Rosary and help readers experience what an exciting and joyful prayer it can be when we are able to fully engage our imagination in the scenes and just be there. We come away with new energy, a new heart and a new perspective on our place in the world.”
