'The Power In Youth' Launches its Cornerstone Program 'Youth in Action' at Westland Charter School
Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) April 29, 2015 -- Mark Carter, MD is the founder of 'The Power In Youth,' which launched cornerstone program 'Youth in Action,' at Westland Charter School in Phoenix, Arizona this month. Mark Carter was excited to start teaching youth about the incredible benefits of living a healthy lifestyle and how much it can impact, not only the way they feel presently, but also how they will succeed in the future.
The Power in Youth’s cornerstone program “Youth In Action,” is made up of three 4-week courses. The first is Body & Mind, and is designed to teach students how to really be healthy and strong.
For too long, the entertainment industry and pop-culture have impressed upon youth a fake image of physical health and a false sense of what it is to be secure and strong. The Body & Mind course is designed to teach today’s youth the true meaning of health and strength that leads to living a happier and more fulfilled life. In the Body section, the students will learn what it is to be healthy, and how to apply the right strategies to make healthy eating a way of life (not just a short term diet). In the Mind section, students will be introduced to the mindset needed to continually make healthier choices, and real life practical strategies they can apply in order to keep the commitment they will make to each other, their family, their community, and most importantly to themselves.
About “The Power in Youth”
The Power in Youth encourages adolescents to have a healthier lifestyle in order to have happier lives. Happier people have increased confidence, higher self esteem and tend to be more successful in life. In order to achieve this goal, The Power in Youth has four main objectives: health, empowerment, freedom and performance. They seek to encourage children to make healthy choices for their bodies. They will do so by empowering children with knowledge on how to eat and exercise through their curriculum. Children will know that they have the freedom to make better decisions for their bodies in order to enhance their performance in life.
