Set in the 1960s, “Murder on the Golden State” centers on Tony Fiorelli, a dispatcher working for a Chicago trucking company. Hunted by the mob, Tony fears for his life, but he may have to deal with the Chicago division of the FBI as well.
When senior FBI agent Wayne Darnell is assigned to investigate a murder on the Golden State, one of the country’s premier passenger trains, he unknowingly begins hunting Tony. Can Tony outrun both the mob and the FBI?
Filled with intrigue and drama, “Murder on the Golden State” weaves a suspenseful plot as a murder mystery unfolds. Malmkar hopes to leave readers with a good story and a hunger for more.
An excerpt from “Murder on the Golden State”:
“’I’ll be right out.’ Tony slammed the back of his swivel chair and sent it crashing into the desk behind him, but he didn’t care. Two steps took him out the door into the long hall. He turned right then strode to the windowed door twenty feet away and rammed it open. Not today! He kept repeating to himself. Not today!”
