Masseria Tenuta Potenti in Puglia, Italy

Masseria Tenuta Potenti is more than just a place to spend your holiday. It is a way to escape from stressful daily life, meet nature and recalibrate your senses.

Welcome Beyond is proud to announce that Masseria Tenuta Potenti in Puglia is now part of its hand-picked selection of truly memorable holiday rentals & boutique hotels worldwide. At the Masseria, the wild and unspoiled nature of the Mandurian countryside meets local hospitality. “Masseria Tenuta Potenti is more than just a place to spend your holiday. It is a way to escape from stressful daily life, meet nature and recalibrate your senses,” describes owner Maria Grazia.

The large 16th century farm surrounded by hectares of olive trees and vineyards formerly belonged to the powerful family of the Imperiali, today it serves as a small hotel with 18 cosy rooms and apartments, each with its own fireplace and private patio, featuring local antiques and art.

Tenuta Potenti serves only the best of Italian cuisine: home-made specialities with ingredients from its own vegetable garden as well as freshly baked breads and cakes. Guests may get a glimpse of the traditional Puglian farm life by participating in the harvest or attending a Mediterranean cooking class. Here, Maria Grazia lets them in on the secrets of fine winemaking, olive oil or jam making, or cooking in the old wood oven.

Guests can relax in the hammam, enjoy an Ayurvedic massage, swim in the cool pool surrounded by beautiful flowers and fruit trees, or partake in especially organised yoga retreats. Maria Grazia loves to personally take guests to Puglia’s secret gems to experience the authentic Puglian countryside and culture. The sea with countless beautiful beaches is only about 5 kilometres away and there are a host of charming historic towns in the area. One of the best is Lecce, which is known for its baroque churches and monuments. Other local highlights include the natural reserves of Salina dei Monaci and Palude del Conte, and the traditional pizzica dances performed at the yearly summer festivals.
