Maui Wowi Hawaiian Aims to Give Back With Good Karma Initiatives
Greenwood Village, Colo. (PRWEB) November 30, 2013 -- Maui Wowi Hawaiian, a gourmet coffee and fresh fruit smoothie company, is a firm believer in the importance of good karma and has spent a large portion of this year participating in charitable contributions. Both the Mainland office and its franchisees are proud of these accomplishments and are excited to continue their efforts in 2014.
There have been several efforts that Maui Wowi Hawaiian has contributed to over the past year. One initiative implemented in the Mainland office was one week paid time off to be spent volunteering and giving back to the community. Director of Global Franchise Development Justin Livingston took this opportunity and spent a week rebuilding churches and houses in Haiti that were devastated by a massive earthquake. For Breast Cancer Awareness month, the company’s Directors of Regional Support blended up smoothies and used money they raised to sponsor a group from Women Empowered By Business (WEBB) who were participating in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day walk in Arizona. The mobility of the company has also allowed franchisees to give back to their respective community through its No-Work Fundraising program, encouraging franchisees to donate a percentage of coffee and smoothie sales to charitable organizations. To finish out the year strong, Maui Wowi Hawaiian and roasting partner Coda Coffee Company have partnered with Sister Souls, Inc. and have donated 78 bags of coffee that will be included in care packages being sent to military officers serving in Afghanistan over the holidays.
