Breakout sessions on controlling costs, maximizing catering, leveraging social media, boosting the bottom line and learning best practices all kept Maui Wowi Hawaiian franchisees inspired and motivated during the company’s recent conference at The Inverness Hotel and Conference Center in Englewood, Colo.
For three days, top-performing franchisees and company leaders from the “Mainland” home office led informative breakout sessions, one-on-one training and panel discussions that educated franchise owners on successful business strategies to expand their business, increase speed of operations, attract more customers and boost sales. Empowering speeches were given by CEO Mike Weinberger, Founder Jill Summerhays and Keynote Speaker Gary Michels. The conference also featured an on-site vendor expo and Barista Certification classes from Maui Wowi’s exclusive coffee roaster, Coda Coffee Co.
In addition, Maui Wowi Hawaiian honored several standout franchise owners for their business excellence, including:

- Director of Regional Support of the Year: Ron and Barb Putman
- Franchise Advisory Council Member of the Year: Trenton Turner
- Rookie of the Year: Eric and Holley Rilko
Ron Kramer, a retired Maui Wowi Hawaiian franchisee who passed away this year, was awarded the ‘Ohana Member of the Year award in memoriam. Kramer was selected by his fellow ‘ohana members to receive this award due to his exemplification of the true Aloha Spirit and the Power of the ‘Ohana.
