I love how economical the mobile unit is and the potential that exists. I realized this was something I could do right away and the flexibility of the model means wherever I go, the business can come with me.

Maui Wowi Hawaiian, the premium island coffee and fresh fruit smoothie retailer, has recently signed a franchise agreement granting Orange County resident, June Padua, the rights to own up to three units. She joins a growing number of Maui Wowi franchisees in the Southern California market and along the West Coast, where the brand culture has thrived in recent years.
Maui Wowi Hawaiian currently has 32 franchisees in the state of California, operating 55 units that include seven fixed retail locations, as well as outlets on the Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton. The company also has a large number of mobile units known as Ka’anapali Carts that can be found at events and venues. Padua is eager to get started working in the mobile event business and making connections in the Orange County community and surrounding areas.
“I love how economical the mobile unit is and the potential that exists. I realized this was something I could do right away and the flexibility of the model means wherever I go, the business can come with me,” said Padua
The company doesn’t have territory restrictions, which allows franchisees to take their business on the road. That flexibility stood out to Padua when she attended a franchise expo in Anaheim and discovered Maui Wowi.
She was immediately drawn to the festive island themed franchise and quality products. Originally interested exclusively in coffee, when she saw Maui Wowi’s dual beverage concept of coffees and smoothies, she said, “it just clicked.”
Padua’s background in interior design has provided her with excellent customer service and business skills. Connecting with people has played an important role in her career and so when she saw Maui Wowi’s commitment to providing support and building relationships, it became clear to her that it was more than just a business.
“After seeing the support and getting to know the people, it just seemed like the right fit for me,” she said. “The friendliness of everyone I’ve met at Maui Wowi makes me feel like I’m a part of one big family.”
Once Padua completes a week of training at the company headquarters in Colorado, she plans to bring that sense of Aloha Spirit into her own business practices, as she begiins working hands-on at events and serving the community delicious, fresh made beverages.
