The team at Mauli Ola has made enormous strides in assisting children affected by this disease and we wanted to do anything we could to help.

Orange County law firm Kushner Carlson, PC recently hosted a wine and cheese charity event on October 16th benefiting the Mauli Ola Foundation, a nonprofit organization based in Laguna Beach that uses surfing as a form of natural saline treatment for children with cystic fibrosis.
The Firm was introduced to Mauli Ola by one if its action sports clients, world champion surfer, Sunny Garcia. Sunny has been heavily involved with the Foundation for several years, predominantly through his participation in the Foundation’s surf experience days.
These events teach children with cystic fibrosis how to surf. In doing so, the children benefit from being around the salt and surf. As a former competitive surfer, partner Luke Carlson’s attention was captured by the Foundation’s efforts.
“It’s great to see the sport of surfing used in such a unique way,” said Carlson. “It’s an excellent opportunity for these children to participate in an exciting sport that also serves as a natural therapy.”
With the surf experience days taking place numerous times throughout the year, Mauli Ola is always in need of beach gear for the children.
The Firm is elated at the success of the event. “I couldn't be happier” states senior partner Michael Kushner. “Great company, food, and atmosphere, all while supporting a great cause. The team at Mauli Ola has made enormous strides in assisting children affected by this disease and we wanted to do anything we could to help. We look forward to working with them again in the future.”
