MCA-Russell Johns Represents USA TODAY’s Popular ‘Auction Showcase’ at the 67th Annual International Auctioneers Conference
Grand Rapids, MI (PRWEB) August 18, 2016 -- The world’s best bid callers went to Michigan for the 67th annual International Auctioneers Conference & Show, the largest gathering of the field’s most elite talent. Among those welcoming these top talkers were Alex Clevenger General Manager and Doug Knowles Jr Account Executive from MCA-Russell Johns who were there to tout USA TODAY’s popular “Auction Showcase” (http://www.russelljohns.com/pubs/usa-today).
The conference, hosted by the National Auctioneers Association (NAA), “provides members with a range of educational seminars to grow their businesses, while also providing a network to connect and meet fellow Auction Professionals,” organizers said.
A highlight of each annual get-together is the International Auctioneers Championship, where the “best of the best” compete for top male and female honors. The 2016 winners—selected from a field of 94—were Beth Rose, of Maumee, OH, and Richard “TJ” Freije, of Clayton, IN. The competition took place in the DeVos Place Convention Center, Amway Grand Plaza Hotel.

“Auction Marketing Campaign of the Year” was awarded to Beth Rose, CAI, of Beth Rose Real Estate & Auctions, LLC, in Maumee, OH, for her company’s Ridgeland Estate Luxury Auction campaign.
Kurt Aumann, CAI, ATS, CES, of Aumann Auctions, Inc. – MarkNet Alliance Member, in Nokomis, IL, won “Best in Show: Advertising & PR, Print” for the “Aumann Auctions 20th annual Antique Tractor Auction” catalog.
Pam McKissick, CAI, of Williams, Williams & McKissick, in Tulsa, OK, received “Best in Show: Advertising & PR, Digital/Social” for the “California Winery & Vineyard Auction” video entry.
For the second straight year, David W. Thornhill, of Thornhill Real Estate & Auction Co., in Troy, MO, took “Best in Show: Photography, this time for the entry titled “Friends at an Auction.”
All award recipients were formally recognized during the NAA Marketing Competition Awards Reception in Michigan.
