As medical editor-in-chief, Dr. Fernandez will draw on his years of training and experience as a cardiothoracic surgeon that began at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts Institute of Technology to guide content development and provide insight into the rapidly evolving field of cardiothoracic medicine. In addition to his contributions to the field of cardiovascular medicine, Dr. Fernandez is nationally recognized for his book “Undocumented: My Journey to Princeton and Harvard and Life as a Heart Surgeon” which chronicled his compelling life story as an undocumented immigrant whose determination and perseverance led to his citizenship and admission to those leading universities.
