Personal Narrative Shares Author’s Journey to Self-Acceptance of Being Gay, Surviving Sexual Abuse
NEW SOUTH WALES, Australia (PRWEB) April 18, 2017 -- Wanting to tell her story of self-acceptance after growing up homosexual and surviving sexual abuse in a Christian environment, author Skyara Reign wrote “Me” (published by Balboa Press AU) to inspire people to be true to themselves and challenge other people’s ideas on love, abuse, forgiveness, sexuality and God.
Reign’s personal narrative, a tale of forgiveness, self-acceptance and unconditional love, tells the story of one woman’s journey through surviving sexual abuse and being forced to undergo rehabilitation for being gay. Reign presents a story about finding and loving oneself and says that understanding people are who they are is important because all people are “perfect creations of divine love.”
“Love is the answer to everything. If we look at people through the eyes of love we will accept their uniqueness,” Reign says. “My background in my study of the bible and books about the bible as well as my personal spiritual experiences, gives a unique view point on a more truthful view on how God views all humanity including homosexuals.”
An excerpt from “Me”:
I have seen much … I have seen love and I have seen horror. I have left this earth twice only to return with the memory of eternity. I am a woman, and I am gay. I am a seeker of truth and divine love. I am all of these things and yet none of them. My experiences and sexuality do not define me, for my identity, like yours, will always be safe, in love
