Westchester Insurance, a full service insurance company with offices serving communities in and around Grand Prairie, is teaming up with the Tarrant County chapter of Meals on Wheels to provide healthy meals for senior citizens throughout the area.

Meals on Wheels is the oldest and largest national organization that supports the more than five thousand nutrition programs throughout the country that address senior hunger and isolation. Serving virtually every community in the nation, Meals on Wheels boasts a network of over two million volunteers that pick up and deliver fresh meals to hungry seniors.

More than just a meal delivery service, Meals on Wheels volunteers perform regular safety checks during their friendly visits to ensure that American seniors are fully nourished and able to live with independence and dignity.

“The Meals on Wheels association is a shining example of what a charity should be,” says Dave Phillips, owner and manager of Westchester Insurance. “Meals on Wheels helps ensure that our seniors are safe and healthy while allowing them to maintain their independence, and we’re honored to support their efforts.”

Mobilizing an extensive list of personal and professional contacts, the Westchester Insurance team is reaching out to community members and business associates alike as they gather donations and raise awareness of the work done by the Meals on Wheels Association. The Westchester team is also building an online social media site that they predict will draw in additional support from families and individuals all across the state of Texas.

In addition to assisting the Meals on Wheels Association with their efforts to keep seniors healthy and independent, Phillips and the Westchester Insurance team are supporting several other local charities. As part of an ongoing community involvement program, the team plans to support an additional local charity every 30-60 days in the months ahead.
