Plantation, FL (PRWEB) May 08, 2014

veEDIS Clinical Systems, LLC proudly announced today that it has successfully implemented its cloud-based Emergency Department Information System (EDIS) in National Park Medical Center, located in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Used by nurses and physicians to care for emergency patients, this program is a significant step toward modernizing technology and patient record-keeping at the busy facility.

veEDIS™ was certified for Meaningful Use Stage 2 earlier this year under the Drummond Group’s Electronic Health Records Office of the National Coordinator Authorized Certification Body (ONC-ACB) program. This EHR software is compliant in accordance with the criteria adopted by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and will assist the hospital towards its own Meaningful Use requirements. These guidelines are designed to help facilitate more coordination of patient care, reduce medical errors, eliminate duplicate screenings and tests, and create greater patient engagement.

In addition, veEDIS provides medical content aimed at reducing errors, mitigating risk and improving overall patient outcomes in the ER. The veEDIS Care Trak™ tool delivers emergency department evidence based medicine right to the treating physician and alerts them to inconsistencies or potential high risk factors – all in real time. veEDIS sent a full support team that included physicians, nurses and technicians to the hospital for the comprehensive training and go-live process.

The new system was extremely well received by the Emergency Department staff. Physicians and nurses said that veEDIS is the most useful and easy-to-learn EHR they had worked with to date. “The training process was efficient and well orchestrated by the veEDIS training team,” said Angela David, Emergency Department Nurse Manager. “The go-live process was completed without any slow-down or disruption to our patient care process.”

“The team at National Park is a stellar group of people that has been wonderful to work with. We are especially pleased that veEDIS was selected for their emergency department software,” said Thomas L. Grossjung, President and CEO of veEDIS Clinical Systems. “veEDIS was designed for hospitals like National park where the patient experience is a top priority. Our team of nurses and physicians who developed veEDIS has years of experience working in emergency departments. Their familiarity with the day-to-day challenges resulted in veEDIS simplifying emergency department management, while at the same time providing the latest technology to assist in meeting quality patient care goals.”

National Park Medical Center spans more than 50 years. With more than 24,000 patients a year seen in the emergency department, the hospital offers an extensive range of medical and surgical services to the community of Hot Springs, Arkansas.
