Measurabl Wins Best Cleanweb Technology at Global Cleantech Awards
San Diego, California (PRWEB) December 12, 2014 -- Measurabl is proud to announce that it has won the Best in CleanWeb/IT for the Global Cleantech Cluster Association (GCCA) 2014 Later Stage Award. The GCCA’s Global Top 10 Winners represent the best of the association’s 52 member clusters and over 10,000 member companies. The GCCA Global Top 10 Winners were selected by 22 cleantech venture capital and private equity investors and serial entrepreneurs, who collectively manage over $3.5 billion in global clean technology investment. This year’s awards were organized by the swisscleantech, and presented on December 3, 2014 in Lausanne, Switzerland, at the 5th annual CleanTech Investing Seminar.
The 2014 Global Top 10 award reflects Measurabl’s cleantech success and market position as a cloud-based software company in the $163.1 billion global cleantech industry. It also indicates Measurabl’s unique innovations are making a positive contribution to the green economy.
“Cleantech is thriving throughout the world and proving to now be a major driver of economic growth,” said Christian Haeuselmann, Co-Founder and Chairman of the GCCA and Cluster Manager for swisscleantech who hosted this year's awards. “The 2014 winners are proving that companies innovating in the new green economy are both investable and thriving. It is an honor to highlight them as true examples of success in our growing industry.”
Measurabl was nominated for the GCCA Later Stage Award by Cleantech San Diego in the Spring 2014 for simplifying sustainability reporting. The Global Top 10 were selected out of the 10,000 companies represented by the GCCA’s nearly 52 member clusters. In total, over 100 companies were nominated by clusters as leading in their regions. That number was later narrowed to the Global Top 30 Semi-Finalists using the Keystone Method™, a business and venture development tool developed by GCCA Head Judge Dr. Peter Adriaens, CEO of the Keystone Compact Group.
"We congratulate Measurabl for winning the GCCA Later Stage Award,” said Cleantech San Diego President Jason Anderson. "In doing so they bring well-deserved global attention to their important product as well as San Diego’s thriving innovation economy.”
Founded in April 2013 by Matt Ellis, the former Director of Sustainability Solutions at CBRE, Measurabl’s cloud-based software automatically aggregates non-financial (“sustainability”) data and simplifies the process of disclosing it to third party surveys and benchmarks. Its unique freemium business model, intuitive user interface, and set of open APIs have made it possible for companies around the world to start collecting data and reporting instantly at no cost.
“The win is a satisfying way to close out what was already a decorated sophomore year for us,” says Matt Ellis, Measurabl’s Founder and CEO, referring to Measurabl’s earlier accolades as a third place finisher at the Beijing Innovation Awards as well as its win of an Innovation Award from the San Diego Business Journal. “Awards, though, are a by-product of delivering on a product vision that has resonated with some of the largest companies in the world who want to rationalize their sustainability programs, as well as smaller companies who need access to simplified tools.”
