Medic Announced as Gold Level Fit-Friendly Worksite by AHA
Charlotte, NC (PRWEB) May 30, 2014 -- Mecklenburg EMS Agency has just been announced as a 2013 Gold Level Fit-Friendly Worksite award winner by the American Heart Association (AHA).
Medic received this national distinction through physical activity support, increasing healthy eating options at work, and promoting a wellness culture for its employee population. The agency’s commitment to employee health and wellness includes an active Wellness Committee, on-site fitness center and food marketplace, as well as participation in such programs as the Million Step Challenge and National Heart Month.
Employers must have a population of at least 25 employees and implement a minimum of six physical activities, two nutrition and one culture criteria to be eligible for the Gold Level Fit-Friendly Worksite award distinction.
Medic is extremely proud to be recognized for its effective promotion of employee health and wellness programs. The agency encourages all employees to be healthy, live well, and retire strong.
