Media Alert: SkillsUSA Plans “Perkins Power” Rally for Career and Technical Education on Sept. 24

An estimated 558 career and technical education students, teachers and state leaders from 29 states representing dozens of skilled trades students enrolled in career and technical education programs at public high schools and community colleges nationwide.
What:
A national rally to celebrate the implementation of the Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act (HR 235). This law, passed in 2018, reauthorizes, reforms and modernizes the Carl D. Perkins Act (now called Perkins V), strengthening secondary and postsecondary career and technical education programs.
When:
Sept. 24, 2019 at 8:30 a.m. (about 30 minutes)
Where:
West Front of the U.S. Capitol
(across from the reflecting pool on the west lawn facing toward the National Mall).
