After a stellar career as both a circuit judge for the state of Missouri and a trial lawyer, J.D. Williamson has announced his membership in Mediation.com, the premier mediation portal online, after founding his own mediation and legal services firm in 2007.
“When I stepped down from the bench in 2007, I realized that I gained the experience and knowledge to provide an uncommon insight to assist in the mediation of disputes of all kinds,” Williamson said. “That same expertise also provides me with the skills needed to fairly and impartially act as arbitrator in deciding and resolving those disputes which cannot be resolved by agreement.”
Prior to serving as a Missouri circuit judge, Williamson practiced law as a trial attorney for 30 years, handling civil lawsuits in areas of personal injury, general business, commercial and real estate disputes. He also tried criminal cases both as prosecution and defense counsel. In 2007, he founded Williamson Mediation and Legal Services to offer both mediation and arbitration in general civil disputes including business, commercial, construction, employment, personal injury and real estate. In addition to his alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services, he also handles litigation in cases involving civil, criminal and family law.
