After years of service as a firefighter, investigator for the Bureau of Fire Investigation (Bomb and Arson Squad) for the City of Chicago, and a FEMA-certified claims investigator, Ronald Russell has had many opportunities to use his deep knowledge of firefighters, law enforcement, and disaster response to resolve disputes. He recently brought this experience to the nation’s fastest-growing online alternative dispute resolution (ADR) portals, Arbitration.com and Mediation.com.

Mr. Russell concentrates his practice in the fields of fire and liability issues, including insurance claims, construction, maritime law, law enforcement, and workplace disagreements. His mediations have been key in the settlement of disputes between city administration and fire/police organizations including but not limited to union matters, giving him an exemplary professional reputation due to his thoroughness and accuracy. He has more than forty years of experience working with police departments, fire departments and insurance companies to investigate and resolve claims and other disputes.
Mr. Russell was appointed by the Mayor of the City of St. Petersburg to sit on the C.A.P.I. (Committee for the Advocacy of Persons Impaired) where he remained for many years. He continues to give back by participating in numerous aspects of discrimination prevention and resolution involving various community groups including the G.L.B.T. He is also regularly called upon to consult in dispute resolution between unit owners and condo associations.
A graduate of the Chicago Fire Department Academy and the United States Naval Training Center, Mr. Russell is certified as a mediator and arbitrator with the Supreme Court of Florida. He currently serves Pinellas, Hillsborough, Pasco, Manatee and Sarasota Counties, with plans to expand to the rest of the State of Florida in the future.
