Melvin Shares His Life Story in New Book

HOHENWART, Germany (PRWEB) October 27, 2016 -- When Melvin was a young boy, he noticed how beautiful the town of Woodbine, Georgia, was. It was full of all kinds of flowers and trees. It inspired him to write about this little town in Southeast Georgia in his book titled “Young Stranger” (published by Xlibris UK). It shares his story as a young, daring black boy who grew up into adulthood in the 50th through the 60th in Woodbine.

During those days, everything was segregated for the blacks. Black people were not allowed to go in any public places to get even a piece of bread. But that did not worry Melvin much because he was a clever young boy who excelled in school and in sports. He was confident that he will make it in life because he was taught at a very tender age to show respect to all people regardless of their race. He always had a smile on his face that earned him many friends. His character helped him to fulfill his dream. He found his paradise in Munich, Germany, where he had his own business for many years and his home. This is the place where he lives today.

“This book shows how simple the black people were compelled to live back in the day,” Melvin says. “Despite of everything, those black people were still happy and friendly to one another.”

“Young Stranger” vividly depicts the story of how a young black man from a small town in Georgia was able to live his life, followed and fulfilled his dreams and became a successful businessman.
