Sunset Finances Applauds Organizers and Attendees of “Puppy Doe” Dog Memorial
Boston, MA (PRWEB) September 30, 2013 -- Today, Sunset Finances life celebration website offered their support to and applauded the organizers and attendees of a memorial for a Quincy, MA dog which was euthanized after being found severely tortured last month.
According to an article published on September 29th in the Boston Globe with the title “Hundreds Gather, with Dogs, at Memorial for Quincy Dog,” a pit bull was found on August 31st with severe burn wounds, blunt force trauma, stab wounds, fractures, and dislocations. The dog, nicknamed Puppy Doe, had to be euthanized due to the severe nature of the wounds sustained.
The Globe article reported that roughly 250 people gathered, many with their canine companions, at Pageant Field in Quincy on Saturday, September 28th for a vigil intended to both honor and mourn Puppy Doe, as well as to raise awareness for a revamping of animal cruelty laws. State Representative Michael Morrissey is quoted as stating in a speech during the vigil, “We’re here today not just to mourn, although there is much to mourn, we are here because this kind of cruelty diminishes us as a society and diminishes us as a community. It is highly unlikely that this level of sadistic cruelty, which I have referred to as torture, could be shown to one living creature and not to others.”
Sunset Finances commented how wonderful it was to see such a turnout in the face of sadness and violence. Sunset Finances is quoted as saying, “It is heartwarming to see that, despite such a tragic and senseless act toward Puppy Doe, so many people turned out to remember the life of this dog as well as show solidarity for neglected and abused animals. That is a cause close to our hearts and we support this community and these people in their efforts tremendously.”
