Mercedes-Benz Hertfordshire introduces the ‘car of tomorrow’ today: The Mercedes-Benz S-Class
Hertford, London, UK (PRWEB UK) 10 October 2013 -- Long regarded as the best luxury car in the world, the S-Class is also synonymous with debuting features that shape the specification of future cars produced by all manufacturers. For example, the S-Class showcased the now common standard features of airbags and anti-lock brakes as long ago as the early 1980s.
The new generation S-Class continues this groundbreaking trend at apace. Safety features of the new S-Class that are certain to be adopted in years to come by the automotive industry include rear seat belts that are actually bags that inflate on impact and cameras at the back that detect an imminent rear-end collision and instantly apply the brakes to stop the S-Class hitting the car in front. There is even a night vision camera that not only alerts drivers to living creatures at the roadside in the dark but can also distinguish between human and animal life forms.
Now available to test drive at Mercedes-Benz Hertfordshire, the new generation S-Class also demonstrates that luxury doesn't have to come at the expense of efficiency. The unprecedented level of comfort spans the Warmth Comfort Package that heats the steering wheel, front and rear armrests to seats that can simulate a soothing hot stone massage if required, but the S-Class can also achieve over 50mpg. And while it offers a nine per cent improvement in power over its predecessor, the S-Class range enjoys an 18 per cent reduction in CO2 emissions and a 22 per cent improvement in fuel consumption.
Mercedes-Benz S-Class customers can choose from petrol, petrol hybrid and diesel engines, while there is also a choice of standard and long wheelbase and SE Line or AMG Line trim levels.
“The S-Class has always been exceptional but the new generation model is on a whole new level,” explained Andrew Gallacher, Mercedes-Benz Hertfordshire’s Group Sales Director.
“Groundbreaking features such as the use of Mercedes-Benz LED lighting that does away with the need for bulbs and the Magic Body Control suspension system mean that the new S-Class is undeniably the most advanced car in the world,” said Andrew.
“The previous model was hard for its rivals to even equal – it was voted the ‘best luxury car’ by leading motoring titles for seven years in a row – but the latest S-Class raises the benchmark in efficiency, comfort, refinement and personalisation.”
Andrew continued: “There’s so much to the S-Class that it can only be fully appreciated by experiencing it up close, and I invite those who are serious about driving the best luxury car in the world to contact us to arrange a personal appointment where we can expand fully on its incredible specification.”
