State Farm Agent Meridth Lamas Asks Savannah to Pay it Forward
Savannah, GA (PRWEB) December 09, 2015 -- “For this program, I ask that people write a letter to me telling me who they know that should receive a free bicycle and why,” said Meridth. “Participants can choose a child down the street, a homeless person around the corner, a person they see walking to work every day because of lack of transportation, themselves or anyone else.”
Meridth’s inspiration for the bike give-away was the story of a kind stranger who gave a disadvantaged girl a bike after her family moved to America and he saw how difficult it was for her to get to the store or to school. From then on, life was a little easier. When she was an adult, and the stranger was an old man, they met. She promised that if she was ever successful, she would do kind things for others, and started giving bikes in return.
“Touched by this story, we are doing the same in Savannah,” said Meridth. “I would love to see the participants have a couple of weeks to think about the person they select. It’s a pay-it-forward opportunity and really helps people learn generosity, and a very special opportunity for them to make a lifelong difference for someone.”
Meridth is encouraging those that participate to think hard about who they know that might be struggling and whose life you know would change if they had a bicycle. Next, write Meridth a letter telling her who that person is and they will select people to give free bicycles to this December. Letters can be mailed to Meridth’s office at 329 Eisenhower Dr., Suite C, Savannah, GA 31406, or sent through her website at http://savannahinsurancelady.com/.
