VRComfort Labs, a new business unit of CMTLabs, Inc. announced the Oculus /Meta Quest 2 is "plug and play" for user integration into an innovative, retail consumer stationary boundary platform system which eliminates head movement motion sickness.
NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., May 12, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- VRComfort Labs stated other stand-alone headsets such as Quest 1, Lenovo Mirage, Pico4, Oculus GO and even a Google Daydream can be adapted for integration into the platform, but the Meta Quest 2 is form, fit, and function, plug and play. The platform was developed primarily to accommodate Meta Quest 2 and facilitate quick and easy user integration. Quest 2 optimizes platform functionality features during "static" virtual user engagement. (When the user remains as an observer or spectator and does not engage as a highly interactive avatar participant such as in esports). Quest 2 head movement motion sickness is eliminated and the discomfort of requiring head straps and bands to secure the unit during virtual engagement.
VRComfort Labs further stated the targeted Quest 2 current and future owners are adults who are interested in VR/Metaverse engagement, but not room scale or high interactivity 6DoF apps such as esports, racing, gaming, or exercising. Instead, the target adult Quest 2 consumers are interested in a multitude of VR/Metaverse stationary boundary, low interactivity 3DoF apps. Some of the most popular include; art gallery and museum exhibitions, visiting wildlife preserves, historic and archaeological sites, global tourism, watching movies and TV, luxury shopping, Sotheby's Metaverse auctions, educational classes, attending theater performances, concerts, sporting events, avatar socializing and many other 3DoF activity categories.
