Metrasens Acquires New Patents to Further Protect Its Innovative Technology
Metrasens, a leading provider of advanced magnetic detection technologies, announced today that as part of its ongoing strategy of continual innovation and intellectual property protection it has now taken assignment of a number of patents from QinetiQ Limited.
MALVERN, U.K., Oct. 11, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- In the last four months it has also obtained grant of its own patents in USA and Europe in two core families and allowance of six more in USA, China and Japan from three other patent families covering the magnetic detection platform which is at the heart of its MRI safety and security products.
The patents assigned from QinetiQ include US 7113092, titled "Ferromagnetic Object Detector" which relates to the use of magnetic with non-magnetic sensors to detect ferromagnetic objects for MRI Safety and for a range of security applications.
The recently granted patents (US 9514624 and EP2606387, US9995713 and EP2725973) cover features designed to optimize usability in MRI safety applications, and the use of a separate pre-screening device, which is also at the heart of Metrasens security systems.
These patents add to Metrasens' growing reputation for innovation directed at helping to make the world a safer place. The company was recently awarded the Queen's Award for Enterprise, the UK's most prestigious business award, in the category of Innovation.
