Ibis Studio Finishes Summer 2015 With Completion of Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Program

Ibis Studio, the premier south Florida-based internet marketing firm, recently completed the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Program this summer in order to bring innovative solutions into the Coral Gables community.

Ibis Studio was recently selected to participate in a prestigious Goldman Sachs program geared toward small business development. The program, Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses, ran from June 4, 2015 to August 29, 2015 and was held at Miami Dade College in Miami, FL.

The program is a $500 million investment created and managed by Goldman Sachs as a way to promote small business growth and employment across the country. The program focuses on developing entrepreneurial skills such as negotiation, marketing, and employee management. At the end of the program, each attendee will have created a detailed business growth plan and will benefit from Goldman Sachs’ large network of partnerships with business organizations and development services nationwide.

To be eligible, applicants must be a small business owner or co-owner and that business must be at least two years old, must comply with certain level of revenue required (for the most recent fiscal year), and must have at least four employees.

The program is extremely competitive and requires applicants to undergo an application process (including an interview) to assess personal strengths and to assess the strengths of the company they’re representing. If selected to attend, participants attend 11 learning sessions designed by entrepreneur education experts at Babson College. They also attend out-of-class activities (approximately 6-8 hours per week) which include various assignments, group activities, business development planning, and networking events.

According to the 2014 Progress Report on the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Program, 99% of participants graduate from the program and 84% continue to do business with other program graduates. Within six months of graduating, 46.2% of graduates report increased job creation and 66.8% report increased revenue; within 18 months of graduating, 57.1% report job creation and 76% report increased revenue. To provide context, the National Small Business Association reported that only 22% of small businesses in the U.S. created jobs in 2014, and only 45% reported increased revenue during 2014.
