The international performance group known as The Illusionists 2.0 welcomes Michael C. Anthony (http://michaelcanthony.com) to the Arts Centre Melbourne. Dubbed by VH1 as “the best stage hypnotist on the planet,” Anthony is also a popular performer on college campuses and at corporate events.

The Illusionists is the largest touring illusion show in the world,” Anthony said of his new endeavor. “I’m honored to be part of such a talented group of performers.

Michael C. Anthony (http://michaelcanthony.com) began the year with an appearance on the talk show “Daytime,” where he dazzled viewers with his “Mentalist” routine. Next stop: Australia, where he debuts as “The Hypnotist” with The Illusionists 2.0, an international performance group that mixes edgy style with spectacular substance.

Anthony appeared on “Daytime” to promote his best-selling book “Body Language Secrets: How to Read Minds by Reading Bodies.” The popular syndicated program airs in more than 140 cities, including New York, Dallas, Los Angeles, Chicago and Nashville. Anthony’s performance can seen online at http://www.wfla.com/story/27763401/daytime-body-language-with-michael-c-anthony.

The “Daytime” video clip features the show’s co-hosts, Cyndi Edwards and Jerry Penacoli, who joined Anthony in an entertaining card trick in which he identified their cards by reading their body language. Penacoli’s reaction summed it up best: “Wow!”

“Wow” is also the reaction Anthony is hoping for when he hits the stage at the Arts Centre Melbourne. Simon Painter, the producer instrumental in creating The Illusionists, described Anthony’s skills this way: “Michael's ability to combine masterful hypnosis with hilarious comedy is simply unequaled. He is the best of the best.”

VH1 agrees, having named him as “the best stage hypnotist on the planet.” Anthony — who was raised in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada, but lives in Tampa — has performed in Las Vegas as well as before jam-packed arenas across America. He has also appeared on CBS, ABC, NBC and Fox and is the only American stage hypnotist featured in “The Idiots Guide to Hypnosis” by Dr. Roberta Temes.

“The Illusionists is the largest touring illusion show in the world,” Anthony said of his new endeavor. “I’m honored to be part of such a talented group of performers.”

In addition to Anthony, the eclectic ensemble includes Luis de Matos of Portugal, British-born James More, Raymond Crowe and Sam Powers of Australia, and Ben Blaque of the United States. Learn more at https://www.facebook.com/michaelcanthony?fref=photo

Illusionists 2.0 has appeared at some of the most exclusive entertainment venues in the world, including Mexico City, New Zealand, Dubai, Brisbane, Sidney and Istanbul. The elite team has been described as “the Cirque du Soleil of magic.”

Prior to joining Illusionists 2.0, Anthony completed a successful national tour that included stops in South Carolina, Arizona, Ohio, Maine, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Maryland. Just before leaving for Australia, he learned that his book “Body Language Secrets” had attained best-seller status in its category on Amazon.
