Michell & Diane Cook’s new book inspires closer walk with God
CORONADO, Calif. (PRWEB) March 09, 2015 -- Authors Michell and Diane Cook were inspired by the teachings of the 17th-century Christian mystic Brother Lawrence to write their new book, “Practicing God’s Presence: A Thirty Day Adventure” (published by WestBow Press).
“Practicing God’s Presence” helps readers develop the positive habit of abiding in Christ for 30 days, ultimately bringing them closer to God’s presence. The authors take 150 tips from the teachings of Brother Lawrence to inspire readers to be effective Christians.
By taking Brother Lawrence’s practices and updating their language to modern usage, the Cooks present the reader manageable bits of five tips per day to help develop an awareness of God’s daily presence.
The authors want readers to develop a habit of walking with a renewed intimacy with God after reading “Practicing God’s Presence.”
An excerpt from “Practicing God’s Presence”:
“Practicing the presence of God is important because God created us to walk with Him in His presence. He loves to walk with us as He did with Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden before they fell. He takes great pleasure in being with us, because He lives inside us.”
