Midbrook, Inc., is Awarded Conveyor and Guarding Work for Michigan Based Supplier
Jackson, MI (PRWEB) August 19, 2013 -- Midbrook, Inc., the 40 year old minority owned Jackson, Michigan firm, that built itself on a "Factory-For-Hire," was recently awarded the conveyor and guarding work for another Michigan based automotive supplier.
The automotive supplier, who wishes to remain unnamed, was awarded a contract which will effectively double its business over the next 5 years. Projections assume $1.1 million units the first year and will steadily increase through the next 4 years.
"Our customer is a private firm with a limited pool of funding," says Jamie Crowley, Midbrook's Sales Manager. "Once they built the addition to their facility and expanded the cost to land the order and buy equipment at auction, their pot was depleted."
That is when Midbrook entered the picture. The original equipment manufacturer (OEM) demands a level of efficiency. The supplier understood how to become lean in their process model, but they could not absorb the cost of the well known conveyor companies.
Midbrook sketched the solution, built the frame on site and then provided "as built" prints to satisfy the OEM . All for a fraction of the cost. With the savings from the conveyor, the supplier was able to invest in machine tool-specific guarding.
"We enjoy coming in under cost estimates of our competition," states Crowley. "Our guys have been welding metal into solutions for decades. We can always find a better, less expensive way."
