MilitaryRecord.org Launches Effort to Stop Veterans from Becoming Scam Victims
Houston, TX (PRWEB) April 11, 2014 -- MilitaryRecord.org is about to launch a major initiative to teach people about ways scam artists target veterans and how to avoid becoming a victim, the company announced yesterday.
“These people have put their lives on the line for our country,” a MilitaryRecord.org spokesman said. “We think it is horrible that scam artists target them when they come home. We want to help put a stop to that and believe that showing people how these scam artists work will help people.”
Scam artists often target veterans when they have recently returned home and are still adjusting to civilian life, he said.
“In that situation, your decision making powers are often not as good as they would be otherwise,” he said. “Scam artists prey on that and can literally bankrupt our true American heroes.”
MilitaryRecord.org will research how scam artists target vets, and then explain what to look out for and how to avoid becoming a scam victim, he said.
“We'll post all of this information on the members' area of our site, our social media channels, and our blog,” he said. “We think that if we take people step by step through how scam artists work they won't become victims. Instead they will turn the tide and win the war on scam artists.”
The information will be released in the form of a series of articles, each one targeting a specific veterans scam, he said.
“We want to make it as easy as possible for people to understand how each scam works,” he said.
