Contemporary Jewelry Artist Christi Schimpke to Bring Innovative, Eco-Friendly Crash by Minabea Jewelry Collection to Beverly Hills artSHOW
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) October 02, 2013 -- Contemporary jewelry artist Christi Schimpke (http://www.minabea.com) will showcase her innovative, eco-friendly “Crash by Minabea" jewelry collection at the Beverly Hills artSHOW, taking place at the historic Beverly Gardens in Beverly Hills, California on October 19-20, 2013. Visitors to the show will find Christi in Booth303, located on The Canon Block.
Christi individually handcrafts each piece of the “Crash by Minabea” collection in her Los Angeles body shop studio, bending and shaping scrap metal from crashed luxury European vehicles such as late-model Mercedes-Benz, BMWs, Porsches, Audis and Ferraris. The scrap metal is carefully selected from vehicles with original factory paint and may come from a door, fender, quarter panel or hood.

“I take scrap metal from crashed vehicles and cut, sand, heat, hammer and rivet it to create sleek and luxurious jewelry that can be worn by women or men,” said Christi. “These are bold, beautiful pieces that have a playful, edgy quality. Collectors love the fact that no two pieces are alike.”
The "Crash by Minabea" collection appeals to style-conscious wearers who are not afraid to be different, who feel strongly about the environment and re-purposing materials and who appreciate well-designed jewelry.
The Beverly Hills artSHOW features the work of 240 artists and will run from 10:00am to 5:00pm on both Saturday and Sunday. The show runs along Santa Monica Boulevard from Rodeo Drive to Rexford Drive.
