As Social Video Eats the World, hoop Opens the Party to Groups
Tel Aviv, Israel (PRWEB) May 24, 2016 -- Today, mobile social video startup, hoop, announced its first-of-a-kind offering that enables people to collaboratively create video “chains” with anyone around the world. hoop “chains” are horizontal threads of individually submitted videos. As mobile social video gains mass popularity across Facebook and Snapchat, the new startup aims to fill a growing void—going beyond hundreds of millions of individually uploaded videos—to offer a social experience of “video chains” that can be instantly created, posted and shared by a collective group of people.
“hoop videos have the power to bring people together - and the potential of being a lot more fun than creating videos alone,” said Yonah Collins, CEO and co-founder of hoop. “We’re making mobile video more inclusive, where everyone enjoys a bigger audience.”
The app is unique in that every video is an invitation to respond and that anyone can easily become participants, not just viewers. Everyone in the chain is influenced by others and has an influence on the whole. People can add onto an existing trend, topic, or meme and evolve it into something much bigger than individual contributions. Entire hoop chains can be viewed by anyone when they are shared via social networks, text, or anywhere via a Web-based link.
How it works
People can shoot hoops in three ways: They can trigger a chain by uploading or creating a 15-second video. Or, they can join a chain by responding with their own video. Everyone can vote on individual videos; with the most votes are seen first. Chains can be discussions, trends, compilations, challenges, memes or anything else that can be developed collectively around a topic or a theme. Categories include Dance, Sports, Social Good/Causes, Animals and more. Creators who start chains are spotlighted as originators.
Hoop is free and available now for download in the App Store here.
