Ramtech Receives Avalon (TX) ISD Contract for Permanent Modular Construction
Mansfield, TX (PRWEB) April 30, 2014 -- Design-build construction firm Ramtech Building Systems of Mansfield, Texas has announced that the Avalon (TX) ISD has approved the design portion of the company's design-build proposal allowing Ramtech to provide a qualified stipulated sum for the construction of a 4,480 square foot classroom wing addition for the North-central Texas district's high school campus. The estimated $790,000 four classroom modular school building will be installed at grade level on a concrete stem wall foundation adjacent to the existing structure, and connected via a walkway and canopy. The permanent modular construction project will utilize a parapet type exterior wall which will incorporate a brick exterior finish designed to integrate with the look of the existing structure. Ramtech is contracted to provide all civil design services, integrating the new modular building fire alarm with the existing fire alarm system, and will also be responsible for redesigning and constructing a new bus lane for the school.
Located south of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex in southern Ellis County, Avalon and its surrounding rural farmland produce much of the cotton output for the County. The district currently serves 321 students from around the area and has recently been nominated recognition by the U.S. Department of Education's 2014 National Blue Ribbon School program. When the district chose to add the additional classrooms, they needed a construction alternative that could meet both their budget and timeframe considerations. According to Gary White, Ramtech Vice-President of Sales, "Once Avalon decided to proceed with developing a new classroom wing for their high school, they recognized that Ramtech's permanent modular construction approach was the fastest most economical way of doing it." Ramtech will begin manufacturing during the first week of June and will begin installing the building sections in the beginning of July. The project is scheduled for completion and occupancy prior to this August in order to meet the start of the 2014-2015 academic school year.
