Charlottesville home to new upscale ladies boutique, opening in the Shops at Stonefield August 1.
Charlottesville, VA (PRWEB) July 21, 2015 -- A love for Charlottesville, interest in fashion and the hope of a career change was all it took to spark the decision between co-owners Valerie Yoffe and Meghan Fountain to open their own business together. For months they searched for the perfect retail space, selected fabric swatches for the interior décor, and traveled to find all the best fashion for their new store, Monkee’s of Charlottesville.
“After 28 years of nursing, I was looking for a career change. My niece, Meghan, and I had been interested in owning a specialty boutique, and Monkee’s presented the perfect opportunity for a new challenge,” said Yoffe.
For Fountain, the opening of her own retail space was inspired by a successful internship with Jack Rogers. During her time in New York, she conceptualized and executed the Sorority Color Collection.
“I have always had a passion for fashion and business. Monkee’s allows me to bring the two together,” said Fountain.
Monkee’s of Charlottesville, an upscale ladies boutique that features designer shoes, clothing and accessories, will open August 1st at 2030 Bond Street, Suite 110. The store is located in the Shops at Stonefield, an EDENS mixed-use development anchored by Trader Joe’s and a Regal IMAX Theater at the corner of Hydraulic Road and Route 29. The neighborhood features an elegant blend of retail, entertainment, dining, residential living and a boutique hotel.
Co-owners Valerie Yoffe and Meghan Fountain are franchisees of North Carolina-based Monkee’s, which will have 25 independently owned and operated locations in 8 states as of Fall 2015. Their store is the third Virginia location for the brand, and the boutiques have a loyal following throughout the southeast and beyond. Established in 1995, Monkee’s was built on a love of fashion, and grown through a focus on personal customer relationships. Monkee’s of Charlottesville has beautiful detailing in the ceiling, bright pops of color in the upholstery and is designed to make you feel right at home.
Monkee's of Charlottesville will carry new and exciting designer labels of shoes, clothing and accessories with a wide variety of styles and price ranges. These two stylish owners are excited to feature Frye, Tyler Boe, Alice & Trixie, Sheila Fajl, DL1961, Dee Keller and Amanda Uprichard – just to name a few.
After months of anticipation and planning, Monkee's of Charlottesville will open the doors with a Grand Opening Celebration on Saturday, August 1st from 10am to 7pm. Festivities will include trunk shows by Trina Turk, Jack Rogers and Mollybeads. Customers will also enjoy a gift with purchase on Saturday while supplies last and a chance to enter to win special giveaways. The trunk shows will continue on Sunday, August 2nd from 12-5pm.
