'This course is fast, and with six riders pretty tight. I wasn't getting hole shots, so I had to focus on carrying my strategic line through the chaos of other riders. It’s not gold, but I am completely satisfied with bronze today.' - Holland
Aspen, Colo (PRWEB) January 23, 2015
Monster Energy’s Nate Holland won bronze today in Snowboarder X, marking his incredible ninth X Games medal to date.
One of the winningest riders in Snowboarder X history, Holland has a total of seven X Games golds, including one from last year’s event. He added to that huge stack of medals with today’s bronze.
"This course is fast, and with six riders pretty tight," said Holland. "I wasn't getting hole shots, so I had to focus on carrying my strategic line through the chaos of other riders. It’s not gold, but I am completely satisfied with bronze today. X Games rocks!"
The Snowboarder X event sees riders racing down a technical course with fast turns and high-speed jumps—first racer to the bottom wins. On today’s short yet technical course, Holland ran the race strategically in the middle of the pack and waited for a passing opportunity, which came near the end when he blew past a crash-up-derby-style pileup and into the third-place podium position.
