MerchantPro Express (MPX) and Evolve Merchant Services agree to terms to be joint venture partners, the terms of which call for Evolve President, Jim Smyth, recruiting, training, and managing Evolve independent agents. All of Evolve merchant deals will be boarded on MPX's platform.

MerchantPro Express (MPX) announced yesterday that it has formed a joint venture with Evolve Merchant Services, an upstart independent sales organization owned and operated by 20-year merchant services sales executive, Jim Smyth. Under the agreement, Evolve will source, train and manage its own independent sales representatives and board merchant contracts through MPX’s extensive back office.

This partnership is another in a series of innovative moves by MPX to distinguish itself from its ISO peers. The terms of the profit-sharing venture will marry Jim Smyth’s recruiting, training and leadership expertise with MPX’s extensive support structure, proprietary agent portal, and strong financial backing.

Reputation was the Key to the Partnership:
Jim Smyth’s impeccable reputation among some of the most esteemed sales forces in the world greatly appealed to MPX, and should attract some of the industry’s best sales talent to Evolve. Jim spent the past 20 years at merchant services industry leader, First Data Corporation (FDC). He began as a successful sales agent and quickly became a “Top 5” Account Executive at FDC.
