Hanson Duby, Toronto’s Renowned Personal Injury Law Firm, Releases Comments on Multi-Vehicle Crash That Left One Dead and Three Injured
Toronto, Canada (PRWEB) August 29, 2013 -- Hanson Duby Personal Injury Law (http://www.HansonDuby.com), a personal injury law firm serving the Greater Toronto Area, is releasing its comments on a recent motor vehicle accident that was set in motion by a hijacked taxi cab and ended up leaving one dead and three injured.
One person was killed and three others were injured in a crash that began as an alleged fare dispute involving a cab. The hijacked taxicab crashed into two other vehicles after allegedly running a red light, killing a 60-year-old driver and seriously injuring his 39-year old daughter. The driver of the cab fled the scene, but was apprehended a short while later. The driver of the stolen cab, 23-year-old Abokar Ahmed Ali of Toronto, faces 13 charges in connection with the three-vehicle collision. “This accident involves much more than just negligent driving,” said Spyros Bekiaris, a lawyer at Hanson Duby Personal Injury Law. “The charges the defendant’s facing in connection to the deadly accident include criminal negligence causing death, impaired driving, theft, fraud, and possession of property obtained by crime, all of which can lead to serious jail time.”
Bekiaris joined Hanson Duby Personal Injury Law as an associate in September 2010. He graduated from York University with an Honours BA in political science in 2006 and from the Queen’s University Faculty of Law with a JD in 2009. He formerly worked at a boutique insurance defence firm in Toronto, representing insurance companies.
Bekiaris has appeared before the Financial Services Commission of Ontario, the Small Claims Court, the Superior Court of Justice, and the Divisional Court. Bekiaris represents clients in a variety of disputes, including motor vehicle accidents, accident benefits, slips and falls, property damage claims, and assault cases, representing the victims. Bekiaris is a member of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association and the Hellenic Canadian Lawyers’ Association.
“Motor vehicle accidents can be very devastating and lead to serious physical and emotional trauma and financial stress,” Bekiaris adds. “With so much at stake, it’s easy to see why hiring the right personal injury law firm can change someone’s life forever.”
“That’s why it’s imperative that those injured or the loved ones of those killed in an accident contact a personal injury lawyer immediately. The personal injury lawyers at Hanson Duby have a proven track record of helping their clients win the compensation they deserve for medical expenses, emotional trauma, and vehicular damage,” he concludes.
