Elizabeth, NJ (PRWEB) October 21, 2013 -- The 38th Annual American Assembly for Men in Nursing Conference is slated to kick off this Wednesday, October 23, in Elizabeth, NJ, with a host of experts scheduled to discuss a range of topics of interest to a growing population of men in nursing.
The conference, which is the largest such gathering of its kind, will provide attendees with an opportunity to participate in a variety of continuing education and professional events designed to enhance patient care, further nursing as a career option for men, and improve nursing education.
This year’s impressive list of featured speakers includes Linda Burnes Bolton, Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer of Cedars-Sinai Health System; Franklin A. Shaffer, Chief Executive Officer of CGFNS International; Michael R. Bleich, Dean of Goldfarb’s School of Nursing at Barnes-Jewish College; Robert Hess, Executive Vice President of Global Programming at Gannett Healthcare Group; John Welton, Dean of the School of Nursing and Health Sciences at Florida Southern University; and William L. Holzemer, Dean and Distinguished Professor at Rutgers University.
In addition to featuring talks by renowned experts in the nursing profession, the AAMN conference will allow attendees to engage with representatives from universities and businesses that also support the advancement of men in nursing. Among the exhibitors in attendance will be Alex Mayzels and Scott Topiol, co-founders of Murse World (http://www.MurseWorld.com), the world’s first and only men's scrubs store. Founded in 2011, Murse World became an official retail partner of AAMN in 2012. Earlier this year the company announced that it had launched an educational scholarship through the non-profit AAMN Foundation.
"Murse World is proud of its continuing partnership with AAMN and is very supportive of the work that the organization has done to enhance professional nursing as a career option for men and to fight gender-based stereotypes within healthcare," said company president Scott Topiol, himself a Registered Nurse.
Murse World is the world's first medical uniform store exclusively for men. They sell men's scrubs by popular brands such as Dickies, Cherokee, Landau, Koi, Iguana Med, Carhartt, WonderWink, Jockey and more through their website. Since their launch in 2011, Murse World has quickly become a uniform leader among men in nursing and other healthcare professions.
The American Assembly for Men in Nursing is a national professional nursing organization with local chapters. AAMN's priorities are to promote the recruitment and retention of men in nursing and to promote men’s health.
