Harris Federal Sponsors ‘My Mom Is A Federal Hero’ Video Contest
Lexington, KY (PRWEB) March 27, 2015 -- Harris Federal is offering a fun way to give a special gift for Mother’s Day and to recognize the hard work of our country’s public servants by sponsoring its first-ever “My Mom Is A Federal Hero” video contest.
Attorney Brad Harris, the founder of the national federal disability retirement benefits firm, says the contest is being held to coincide with Public Servant Recognition Week between May 3-9 and Mother’s Day on May 10.
He pointed out that, according to an April 2014 report by the Office of Personnel Management, women comprise nearly 43 percent of the federal workforce (a total of 781,268 non-seasonal, full-time permanent employees).
“Many of these women are working for a federal agency while raising children at the same time,” Harris says. “We thought this would be a great way to recognize the incredible role they play in keeping their families and our nation running.”
To enter, children of women who are federal employees must submit an original 30-second video, which can be easily uploaded to the Harris Federal website, FederalDisability.com. The child must be age 12 or younger. In the video, the child should tell his or her mother why she is, in the child’s eyes, a “federal hero.”
The video must be entered by April 24. Public voting for the top video will run through May 4. Throughout the voting period, entrants can share their video on social media by using #FederalHeroMoms and tagging @HarrisFederal.
The contestant with the video that gets the most votes will be announced on May 6 and win Mom a $1,000 Amazon gift card. Additionally, two other contestants will receive $100 Amazon gift cards as runner-up prizes.
