73% of Caregivers & CNAs Would Consider Volunteering for Shot at Rewarding, Paid Job According to myCNAjobs Caregiver Trend Report
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) September 05, 2013 -- According to the recent release of myCNAjobs’ Q4 203 Caregiver Trend Report, 73.30% of professional companions, home health aides, and certified nursing assistants would considering volunteering part-time in exchange for an opportunity to land a rewarding, paid job opportunity.
“We’re starting to see a few savvy organizations augmenting their existing workforce with part-time volunteers and extending paid job opportunities based on skill and client fit,” says Brandi Kurtyka, Chief Marketing Officer of myCNAjobs. “Companies leveraging this model report that it reduces turnover and increases job satisfaction, as both parties are able to assess job fit and caregivers are able to be placed into jobs that reduce burnout,” adds Kurtyka.
A surprisingly high percentage, the majority of respondents in the recent study embraced the volunteering concept.
“With an industry turnover rate of over 50%, it’s an interesting model to explore if you’re able to extend meaningful caregiver jobs to the volunteers,” adds Kurtyka.
Additional insights in the Q4 report include the influence of pay on retention rates, small incentives that can easily be employed to entice caregivers to work hard-to-fill shifts, and perceptions of working for an independent versus franchise organization.
